I've played every Metal Gear Solid multiple times, and Master Collection Vol.2 feels like the best way to experience two of the series’ most legendary games

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has become a legendary game, as it never left its original platform, the PlayStation 3. The new Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.2 finally brings this classic to various platforms, including PS5, PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Although Peace Walker in this collection has only one bonus title, the collection offers a better value than the first collection, which included three of the greatest games ever made, four bonus titles, and two graphic novels. Metal Gear Solid 4 is the standout title in this collection, with a phenomenal port on PS5, running at 4K and 60 frames per second with improved loading times.

The game features a strong start with Middle Eastern and South American chapters, providing incredible stealth gameplay and unique battlefield mechanics. However, the game does start to deteriorate in the latter chapters, with a messy plot, lengthy cutscenes, and gameplay segments. Despite these flaws, Metal Gear Solid 4 is still a great game that is highly recommended.
