Italy's Meloni to join Coalition of the Willing meeting on Ukraine via video link – ANSA

A coalition of 30 nations supporting Ukraine will convene in Kyiv on August 24, coinciding with the country's Independence Day. This is the third time the group, established by France and the UK in March 2025, has met in Kyiv. The gathering aims to finalize security guarantees for a post-ceasefire Ukraine. Notable attendees expected to join in person include European Council President Antonio Costa, Finnish President Alexander Stubb, and Luxembourgish Prime Minister Luc Frieden.

Sources indicate that the majority of participants will join online, as the meetings of the Coalition of the Willing typically follow a hybrid format. This will be the first such meeting since British co-chair Prime Minister Andy Burnham assumed his role on July 20, making it his first trip to Ukraine since taking office. Following the group's last summit on July 13 in France, Poland announced plans for Coalition of the Willing military drills in the autumn, designed to ensure readiness to deploy a reassurance force upon a ceasefire, enhancing Ukraine's security on multiple fronts.
