I’ll swim Atlantic for Tinubu if he practises what we fought for — Momodu

Publisher and former presidential aspirant, Dele Momodu, has expressed his willingness to go to extreme measures to support President Bola Tinubu, provided his administration upholds the democratic principles they fought for during the military era. In an interview on Arise TV, Momodu stated that he would even "swim to the depth of the Atlantic Ocean" for Tinubu if the President practiced what they fought against against the military dictatorship.

His primary concern is the potential shift from civilian democracy to civilian dictatorship. Momodu made this statement during a Thursday interview, emphasizing that his criticism of Tinubu is selective and does not involve personal attacks. He praised Tinubu for instilling in him the discipline to challenge authority and for shaping his political consciousness.

The two have a long-standing relationship dating back more than three decades, when they were active in the pro-democracy struggle against military rule in the 1990s.
