Govs, ministers, monarchs, others grace Olu of Warri’s fifth coronation anniversary

Distinguished leaders, including Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State and his counterpart from Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, gathered in Warri to honor the fifth anniversary of the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III. The event, themed "Global Homecoming: Celebrating Our Cultural Renaissance, Unity and Transformational Progress," was attended by traditional rulers from across Nigeria and the diaspora, as well as lawmakers, industry leaders, and prominent Nigerians.

The Ooni of Ife, Ojaja II, and the Emir of Zazzau were represented by their wives, while other notable figures such as the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, and the Obi of Aboh, Oputa III, also graced the occasion. In his address, Governor Oborevwori praised the Olu's leadership abilities and commended his contributions to the development of Warri and the state.

He urged residents to maintain peace and unity, emphasizing the importance of preserving the cultural heritage of the region. The Olu of Warri attributed his achievements to God, expressing gratitude for the support of the attendees and highlighting the potential of the traditional institution to project Nigeria’s culture and values to the world.
