Ex-Pak PM Imran Khan returns to jail after medical examination at Islamabad hospital

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan returned to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Friday, following a medical examination at Shifa Hospital in Islamabad. The 73-year-old, who has been incarcerated since 2018, was taken to the hospital days after the Supreme Court ordered the examination. Khan's party and family had applied for permission for him to remain in the hospital.

The Supreme Court panel instructed authorities to take Khan to Shifa International Hospital for the medical examination, following escalating health concerns raised by his family and personal physician, Faisal Sultan. The court's order came after Arif Alvi, a former president, shared alarming medical reports on social media, citing anxiety, stress, palpitations, high blood pressure, and what seemed to be medication for sleeplessness.
