EPL: Spurs agree £75m deal to sign Savinho from Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho for £75 million, with an additional £10 million in potential add-ons. The 22-year-old will undergo a medical before finalizing his move to north London, where he is set to sign a long-term contract. ESPN reports that this transfer is the result of over a year of Tottenham's pursuit, which was unsuccessful last summer.

Despite initially choosing to stay with Manchester City, Savinho's opportunities were limited last season when he made only seven Premier League starts. Tottenham's head coach, Roberto De Zerbi, has already spent £185 million this summer on midfielders Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. With Savinho's arrival, Tottenham's spending will exceed £300 million, although they have recovered around £140 million through the sales of Cristian Romero, Djed Spence, and Luka Vuskovic.

Arsenal has also embraced the role of being 'hunted' as the Premier League resumes, while Coventry is set to handle Awoniyi. Tottenham is considering other transfers, including a potential deal for Manchester City teammate Omar Marmoush, who could be available after falling down the pecking order last season. Tottenham also remains interested in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, although the financial feasibility of these deals alongside potential moves for Savinho and Marmoush remains uncertain.

Tottenham kicks off their Premier League season against Brentford on Saturday at 17:30 BST, while Manchester City faces Bournemouth on Sunday at 14:00 BST.
