41-year-old mother of three battles kidney failure, seeks N40m for transplant

A 41-year-old mother of three, Omolade Bolaji, is battling kidney failure and desperately seeking N40 million to cover the cost of a kidney transplant, according to a report. Bolaji, a caterer from Ikorodu, Lagos State, has been suffering from constant headaches since 2025, leading to multiple hospitalizations for typhoid before doctors discovered the issue was actually her kidneys.

Her condition worsened to the point where she required dialysis twice weekly at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja. Laboratory results revealed her creatinine level was 14.2mg/dl, more than twelve times the normal limit, and her haemoglobin plummeted as low as 6.1g/dl, less than half the normal range for a woman of her age.

Recently, she fainted for four days, unable to regain consciousness. Her husband, Olaleye Tubi, a driver, explained their desperate financial situation, stating that they have raised only a fraction of the required funds, spending it on medical treatments and maintaining her on dialysis. Tubi's plea to Nigerians for assistance is featured in a video appeal, where he emphasizes the importance of her children's need for their mother and encourages small donations to make a significant difference in their lives.
