2027: Defend your credentials or drop out – Peter Obi challenges presidential candidates

In a recent press conference held in Onitsha, Anambra State, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), challenged all presidential contenders in the 2027 general elections to be prepared to defend their credentials, records, and vision to the public eye. During his address, Obi emphasized the importance of empathy and expressed his intention to visit communities affected by insecurity and flooding to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face.

As the former governor of Anambra State, Obi outlined his core mission, which focuses on national unity, enhanced security, and the transition of Nigeria's economy from a consumer-driven model to a production-oriented one. He urged all presidential candidates to defend their past actions, present plans, and future policies openly, stating that true leadership requires both presence and empathy.

"No one can lead from the front without standing with the communities across Nigeria devastated by banditry, criminality, terrorism, or flooding," he stated.
