Winnipeg Blue Bombers lose Ethan Ball to season-ending injury

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have unfortunately lost another player to a season-ending injury. Defensive back Ethan Ball is expected to miss the remainder of the campaign after suffering an Achilles injury during the fourth quarter of their win against the Ottawa RedBlacks last week. Head coach Mike O'Shea expressed the disappointment, stating that Ball's absence will be tough to endure for the rest of the season.

Ball, who was just 24 years old and had only started three games, was visibly distraught upon realizing the severity of his injury. The Blue Bombers now face a significant blow to their defensive and special teams depth. O'Shea emphasized that Ball was a key player, noting his intelligence, athletic abilities, and competitive spirit.

This is the second player the team has ruled out for the season, following linebacker Jovan Santos-Knox, who was injured on the first day of training camp. Running back Brady Oliveira has missed three consecutive days of practice, but O'Shea remains optimistic that he will play on Friday despite being listed as questionable. Receiver Nic Demski is also questionable but participated in the team's final session before they travel to Edmonton for Friday's match against the West Division-leading Elks.
