Vietnam s ST25 rice hits Selgros shelves in Germany

Vietnamese Goods Week at Selgros Berlin is underway from August 17 to 21 at Selgros Lichtenberg Berlin, aiming to increase awareness of Vietnamese products among German consumers. As part of the event, ST25 specialty rice from Vietnam has been featured on supermarket shelves and is now being distributed across Selgros locations.

This presence is significant for business-to-business networking and exchanges between Vietnamese enterprises and German partners, facilitated by Vietnamese Goods Day events organized by the Vietnam Trade Office in Germany and Selgros. This is the fourth time the Vietnam Trade Office in Germany has organized such an event at German supermarkets, showcasing its role in connecting Vietnamese businesses with importers, distributors, and retail chains in the market.

Selgros Cash & Carry, one of Germany's major wholesale food and consumer goods retailers with 38 locations, offers over 60,000 products in sales areas of up to 11,000 square meters per location. The official placement of ST25 rice on Selgros shelves opens an additional distribution channel for the product and highlights the effectiveness of trade connections between Vietnamese businesses and overseas networks.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany, Nguyen Dac Thanh, emphasizes the importance of this distribution for promoting high-quality Vietnamese agricultural products directly to German consumers and moving towards a quality-focused export model. To ensure a long-term presence in the German market, Vietnamese businesses must maintain product quality, meet food safety standards, invest in packaging, ensure stable supply, and implement suitable promotional and marketing activities for German consumers.
