Seoul invites residents to stroll under the stars along Han River

As summer gives way to autumn, Seoul is inviting residents and families to enjoy a new city experience along the Han River. Starting August 28, the city's Han River Night Tour will offer free guided evening walks, replacing the bustling streets with a serene atmosphere under the autumn sunsets and the city's illuminated skyline.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on Thursday that the program will run every Friday and Saturday until October 3, beginning at 7 p.m. Participants can choose between two scenic routes: the Banpo Moonlight Trail or the Yeouido Starlight Trail.

The Banpo route takes walkers along the picturesque Banpo Bridge, passing by Seorae Island, Sebit Island, and the stunning Moonlight Rainbow Fountain. The fountain features illuminated jets of water that add a magical touch to the nighttime panorama.

Alternatively, the Yeouido route leads visitors to Hangang Art Park, the Yeouido Han River Bus dock, and Mulbit Stage and Square. Here, visitors can marvel at the underwater lighting that creates a captivating starry effect along the waterfront.

Beyond the scenic views, the tours will also feature engaging activities. On the Banpo route, participants can join a mood light-making session, while Yeouido offers the chance to walk alongside glowing LED balloons, adding an extra layer of fun to the evening stroll.

This unique nighttime experience is open to adults and families with children, providing a memorable way to explore Seoul's Han River during the cooler autumn months.
