Kyoto native and Chicago resident Sen Morimoto, known for their eclectic musical style, is set to release a new album titled Time Is On Your Side this fall. Following their 2023 album Diagnosis and the 2024 EP BONK!, this new record represents a shift in Morimoto's sound. Produced alongside Chicago-based musicians Kaina Castillo, Ryan Person, Elijah Bradford, and Brok Mende, the album features a lead single called Overthinker.
This acoustic indie-pop track delves into the theme of being ensnared within one's own thoughts. The accompanying music video sees Morimoto, wearing several hats as producer, guitarist, and vocalist, wandering through a sunlit forest while strumming his guitar. The album is scheduled for release on October 23 through Morimoto's self-named label, Sooper Records, and pre-orders are now available.
