Qatar Airways’ 150 Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft now include world’s first Starlink-equipped Boeing 787-9

Doha, Qatar - Qatar Airways has become the first airline to operate Boeing 787-9 aircraft equipped with Starlink technology. The carrier has now reached a total of 150 Starlink-equipped widebody aircraft, which includes the world's first and largest fleets of Starlink-connected Boeing 777s, Airbus A350s, and Boeing 787s. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Qatar Airways, which also recently completed Starlink rollouts for its Boeing 787-8 fleet in just seven months.

The airline aims to finalize the Starlink rollout across its Boeing 787 fleet by the end of 2026. By integrating Starlink connectivity into a scale unmatched by any other widebody operator, Qatar Airways is providing passengers with a unique experience, allowing them to stay connected to their digital world even at 35,000 feet. As of October 2024, over 23 million passengers have taken advantage of the airline's free gate-to-gate Starlink Wi-Fi on long-haul and ultra-long-haul routes across six continents, with the majority of connecting flights in progress.
