Pune VIDEOS: School Bus Catches Fire Near Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway After Dropping 35 Students In Wakad

On Thursday, a school bus caught fire near the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway in Wakad, Pune, after it had dropped more than 35 students at Indira National School earlier that day. The incident occurred while the bus was en route back to the school from Indira National School. The driver detected a burning smell and smoke emanating from the vehicle. Upon noticing this, the driver swiftly pulled the bus to the side of the road, ensuring his safety before dialing emergency services.

The mechanic, although called, took some time to arrive at the scene as the fire began to rapidly escalate. Realizing the urgency, the driver alerted the fire brigade. The fire brigade team, Nikhil Gogawale, the Fire Officer, reported that they arrived at the location within two to three minutes of the call. Gogawale emphasized that the fire was promptly brought under control by the fire brigade's fire tender.

Thankfully, no students were present in the bus when the fire broke out, and no injuries were reported. The driver's quick action in pulling the vehicle to the side of the road undoubtedly played a crucial role in preventing any potential harm. The fire incident caused concern among the public due to its proximity to the busy Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway.
