Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawade Denies ₹25 Lakh Publicity Spend Allegations, Calls Letter Bearing Her Signature ‘Fake’ - VIDEO

Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawade has rejected allegations that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has spent over Rs 25 lakh on publicity for her while in office. During a press conference, Tawade said the public relations firm Run Time Solution has been working with the BMC for the past three years, before and after she became Mayor.

She claimed that the extension of Run Time Solution's contract was sought by Public Relations Officer Tanaji Kamble using her name, without any input from her. Tawade also addressed reports of a letter supposedly bearing her signature, stating that the letter was never inwarded into her office and therefore could not have been signed by her.

She emphasized that she always checks inward entries and outward numbers before signing any document. Tawade accused former Mayor Kishori Pednekar of visiting the Mayor's office without permission to review files. Following the controversy, Tawade said she plans to write to BMC Chief Ashwini Bhide, requesting that any work, proposals, processes or matters involving her name be informed to her office.
