Mourinho begins second Real Madrid reign with Barca in his sights
The veteran Portuguese coach returns 16 years later with a similar task, deposing the Catalan club as Spain's leading force.
Jose Mourinho returns to Real Madrid for his second tenure, aiming to dethrone Barcelona as Spain's dominant club. The veteran Portuguese coach, 63, emphasizes creating a culture of work, responsibility, and ambition. Mourinho's return coincides with Real Madrid's recent investment in high-profile players like Yan Diomande, Bernardo Silva, and Marc Cucurella.
Former Manchester City midfielder Silva could prove pivotal in helping Madrid balance their attack. The rivalry with Barcelona, reminiscent of Mourinho's previous tenure, is already generating anticipation for their upcoming Clasico at Espanyol on Saturday.
