MK Dons sign Barnett on loan from Wrexham

MK Dons have acquired midfielder Ryan Barnett on a season-long loan deal from Wrexham. The 26-year-old can play as either a winger or a wing-back and began his professional career at Shrewsbury Town, where he stayed for 14 years before joining Solihull Moors in 2021. Barnett transferred to Wrexham in February 2023 and played a key role in the club's successful promotion campaign from the National League to the Championship over three and a half seasons.

During that time, he made 112 appearances for Wrexham. MK Dons manager Paul Warne expressed his interest in signing Barnett previously and sees him as a valuable addition to the team. Warne praised Barnett's athleticism and his ability to cross the ball and run forward with it, stating that these qualities fit perfectly with the club's attacking style.
