Ministry Of Tribal Affairs Secretary Reviews Tribal Welfare Schemes In Indore

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: Ministry of Tribal Affairs Secretary Ranjana Chopra conducted a field visit on Thursday to evaluate the implementation of tribal welfare schemes in the region. During her trip, Chopra interacted with beneficiaries, observed the delivery of government programs, and assessed the progress of flagship initiatives.

At the Eklavya Model Residential School in Morod village, Chopra witnessed the utilization of digital smart classrooms for regular teaching. She engaged with students from Class 6 to Class 12, discussing their educational pursuits and future aspirations. The school provides residential education to Scheduled Tribe children, especially those belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs), as part of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN) and Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DA-JGUA) frameworks.

Following her visit to the school, Chopra's team proceeded to the Bunkar Suvidha Kendra in Maheshwar, Khargone district. There, they learned about the women's weaving enterprise, which produces between 1,000 to 2,000 Maheshwari sarees daily. Chopra was informed that one of the weavers from the center had recently participated in a fashion show in Delhi.

At the Bunkar Suvidha Kendra, she met students, including a NEET-qualified aspirant, and interacted with individuals who held titles issued under the Forest Rights Act (FRA).
