Journalist and YouTuber Pragya Mishra posted an emotional tribute on Thursday, August 20, detailing the killing of her sister Divya Mishra, who was shot dead outside her workplace in Lucknow. Manas Vajpayee, her estranged husband, followed Divya to the ICICI Bank branch and opened fire. Divya, who worked as a Deputy Manager at ICICI Bank, had been living apart from her husband due to his perceived psychological issues.
Vajpayee, armed with two revolvers, followed Divya in an autorickshaw and shot her near the entrance of the bank. He then attacked her violently with the butt of the weapon, causing severe injuries to her face and head. Pragya described the harrowing scene, stating that people fled in fear. Manas Vajpayee subsequently took out a second revolver and fired again, leading to Divya's demise.
The journalist expressed her grief, recalling how her mother was kept on the phone, unable to break the news of Divya's death.
