Education Ministry: Violations could bar students from school transport for a full year

Ahead of the new academic year's commencement, the Ministry of Education highlighted the necessity for students to comply with safety and conduct rules while utilizing school transport services. The ministry warned that rule infringements could lead to a temporary suspension of a student from school transportation services or a full-year suspension, with no refund for registration fees.

As the ministry began accepting student applications for school transportation services for the new academic year 1448 AH, departments across Saudi regions and governorates started accepting registration applications via the Noor electronic system. The ministry waived the SR200 annual transportation fee for children of social security beneficiaries and those with disabilities.

The ministry stressed the importance of students adhering to safety and conduct rules, which encompass waiting in designated areas, orderly boarding and disembarking, sitting in assigned seats and wearing seatbelts, following driver instructions, and refraining from endangering themselves or others by extending body parts or bringing hazardous items on board.

Additionally, students were urged to report any misuse of the bus to the driver, ensure the bus has come to a complete stop before exiting, and wait for the bus to move away before crossing the road. In emergencies, students must follow the driver's instructions, use emergency exits, and evacuate calmly. Parents were reminded not to board the buses and should lodge complaints via the transportation supervisor or the educational transportation company's toll-free number.
