Jets won't get their preseason revenge vs. Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets have been scheduled to play the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second preseason game of the NFL season. Fans have been eagerly anticipating a rematch against former Jets starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. However, it has been confirmed that Rodgers will not be participating in this exhibition game. The Steelers made the decision to re-sign Rodgers, committing him to a final season with the team.

In his place, sophomore quarterback Will Howard will take the starting position for the Steelers. Junior Drew Allar is set to replace Howard if needed. Interestingly, neither Rodgers nor veteran quarterback Mason Rudolph will be playing in this game. The Jets have faced Rodgers in the regular season last year, and Rodgers emerged victorious with a 34-32 win, throwing for 244 yards and scoring four touchdowns.

Currently, Jets starting quarterback Geno Smith is still recovering from the injury that forced him to miss the first preseason game. As a result, rookie quarterback Cade Klubnik is expected to start for the Jets against the Steelers. The Steelers will rely on young talent at the quarterback position with Will Howard starting and Drew Allar as a potential replacement.

There will be no veteran quarterbacks, including Aaron Rodgers or Mason Rudolph, participating in this preseason matchup.
