Italian labour market faces challenges in key sectors for the country's future, according to Indeed Hiring Lab. Engineering, technology, and healthcare are among the most affected, with daily applications falling significantly below the average for advertised positions. The most difficult-to-fill positions include reliability engineers, who ensure system or component efficiency, and professions related to data management, healthcare, and technology development.

In engineering and technology, daily applications for industrial, electronic, mechanical engineering, and software development roles have dropped more than 70% compared to the national average. The healthcare sector also shows a notable decline in applications for pharmacists, healthcare technicians, and medical professionals. The region most affected is Lombardy, which leads in the number of job advertisements across all sectors with challenging hiring requirements.

For instance, the Mathematics and Statistics category accounts for 50% of all job postings in Italy on Indeed.
