Hearn threatens to sue White over Joshua, Fury fight

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has threatened legal action against Zuffa Boxing boss Dana White, alleging White falsely claimed rights to stage the Anthony Joshua versus Tyson Fury fight and used Joshua in negotiations for a venue deal he had no authority over, according to PUNCH Sports Extra. The dispute arises from White's entry into boxing promotion with Zuffa Boxing, signing several of Hearn's fighters, and Hearn's own role in managing high-profile mixed martial arts fighters.

This tension has intensified over the planned Fury-Joshua superfight, with White claiming promoter rights, a claim Hearn rejects. Speaking to About Boxing, Hearn stated that White is attempting to broker a deal without the necessary rights, and suggested they should sue White instead. He also mentioned that TKO, a promotional group, has approached him seeking involvement in the event, which Hearn is willing to discuss only if it benefits Joshua and his fighters.

Both parties have signed for the fight, but Team Fury wants changes to the contract that Joshua's side had already agreed upon. Hearn confirmed the fight is being planned in New York, but Team Fury has not yet agreed on the specifics. White dismissed Hearn's claims, stating that he has not been involved in the deal beyond television and venue arrangements, and questioned Joshua and Fury's commitment to the fight.
