Google tethers Antigravity to enterprise controls amid AI shakeup

Google's Antigravity AI coding assistant, developed by DeepMind's AI research group, has been integrated into Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise app subscriptions, bringing it under the influence of Google Cloud controls. Initially announced in May, enterprise customers have been asking Google to add security, compliance, and governance controls to Antigravity and make it accessible through familiar development tools.

Senior Director of Engineering Scott Densmore and Group Project Manager Damith Karunaratne confirmed in a blog post that Antigravity is now available as an extension to popular IDEs like Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains, and Zed. By adding Antigravity to eligible Gemini Enterprise subscriptions, administrators can more easily manage tool licenses, invoices, and security settings through Gemini Enterprise's billing and cost management tools.

These tools offer project-level budget caps, user and team controls, token pooling mechanisms, and the ability for admins to enable overages and gain broader visibility into token usage, API calls, and developer activity. Admins can also set clear boundaries around workspace access, enable full audit logging, and enforce data privacy through Antigravity agent controls.
