Chambliss, Lacy are back to lead a talented roster for No. 9 Mississippi with high expectations

Pete Golding, a first-year head coach, is reuniting with a talented roster for No. 9 Mississippi, the University of Mississippi Rebels. The team boasts star-caliber quarterback Trinidad Chambliss, running back Kewon Lacy, and receiver Deuce Alexander, who all returned from their debut seasons. Additionally, transfers Edwin Joseph (Florida State) and Jay Crawford (Auburn) bring top credentials to the team.

However, building depth remains a priority as the Rebels face a difficult schedule in 2025, including games against No. 24 Louisville, No. 5 Texas, No. 3 Georgia, and No. 10 Oklahoma. The Rebels need immediate production from their wide receiver corps, as several players graduated and transferred out last season, resulting in a lack of overall depth.

The offensive line returns starters Brycen Sanders, Delano Townsend, and Patrick Kudas, providing a solid foundation for the Rebels' attack. On defense, the team features standout linebacker Suntarine Perkins, who has been a big-play specialist since his freshman campaign, and cornerbacks Antonio Kite and Jaylon Braxton. However, the depth of the defense and special teams units could be a concern as the season progresses.
