Bauchi constitutes visitation panel for ATAP, Aminu Saleh College of Education

The Bauchi State Government has formed a seven-member visitation panel to evaluate the management and operations of the Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic (ATAP) and Aminu Saleh College of Education in Azare. Governor Bala Mohammed approved the panel, which will examine the institutions' administration, academic programs, financial management, infrastructure, staff welfare, and overall performance.

According to a statement by the governor's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, the panel aims to enhance accountability, academic standards, and institutional development in the state's tertiary institutions.

Chaired by Prof. Abdulrahman Saminu Ibrahim, a former Vice-Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), the panel includes Prof. Muazu Saidu Badara from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Prof. Isa Mohammed of ATBU, Barr. Abdulhamid Abubakar Bununu, Abdon Dalla Gin, and Aliyu Abdullahi Dambam, a former Auditor-General and Deputy Accountant-General. The Director of Tertiary Education in the Ministry of Higher Education will serve as the secretary to the panel.

The panel will convene with the Polytechnic's management, academic and non-academic staff, students, governing bodies, and other stakeholders before presenting its findings and recommendations to the governor. The statement emphasized that the visitation panel is part of the state government's commitment to ensuring that tertiary institutions operate efficiently, transparently, and in accordance with their statutory responsibilities.

The inauguration of the visitation panels is scheduled for 2pm today at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Governor's Office, Government House, Bauchi.
