5 terrorists killed in intelligence-based operation in Balochistan's Panjgur

On Thursday, security forces in Pakistan's Balochistan province carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Killi Suran area of Panjgur, resulting in the killing of five terrorists. The operation was part of Operation Radd-ul-Fatah III, which aims to eliminate militant threats and restore security in the region. Intelligence had indicated that terrorists were planning an attack in the area.

Upon executing the operation, security forces reported that five terrorists were killed, while several others sustained injuries. Additionally, a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and equipment were recovered from the terrorists involved. These individuals were allegedly linked to various criminal activities, including robbery, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, targeted killings, and attacks in Panjgur and surrounding areas.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the security forces for thwarting the "nefarious designs" of terrorists affiliated with Fitna-al-Hindustan. According to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), Balochistan has been grappling with security challenges, with the security situation deteriorating significantly.

In July alone, the death toll in the province increased by 241 percent, from 109 in June to 372 in July. Security personnel deaths rose from six in June to 62 in July, a staggering 933 percent increase. Terrorist deaths surged from 75 to 238, while civilian deaths jumped by 93 percent, from 28 to 54. Additionally, 18 members of peace committees were killed in Balochistan during the month.

The Interior Minister's statement emphasized the importance of the security forces' actions in thwarting terrorist threats and maintaining peace in the region.
