Johor Deputy Police Chief Hoo Chuan Huat has warned all property owners, supervisors and individuals that they are responsible for monitoring and inspecting the condition of the flag after it has been raised. In a media briefing at Johor State Police HQ, Deputy Police Chief Hoo stated that the three cases involving the upside-down Johor and Jalur Gemilang flags are linked to investigations under the jurisdiction of IPD Kulai, Iskandar Puteri and Johor Bahru South.

He said all those detained were on-site workers, including a 34-year-old male and 48-year-old female in Kulai, two males aged 25 and 43 in Johor Bahru South, and a 56-year-old male in Iskandar Puteri. Deputy Police Chief Hoo said his office is compiling the investigation report before referring it to the Attorney General's Chambers for further instructions.

He reminded all property owners, supervisors and individuals to monitor and inspect the flag condition after it has been raised.

Normally, the issues with flag placement involve foreign workers. These workers are unaware, according to Berita Harian during a media briefing at IPK Johor. According to the Deputy Police Chief, it is the responsibility of the owner or person responsible to correctly place the flag and, after placement, at least perform a visual inspection to ensure it is correct.

Earlier, media reported that a factory in Bukit Seri Indah Industrial Park, Kulai, was temporarily closed last Monday after the Johor and Jalur Gemilang flags were found upside down. A Nepali security guard and a local woman were detained, both held for four days each. Yesterday, Deputy Johor State MP Pandak Ahmad revealed another case in SILC Industrial Park, Gelang Patah, Iskandar Puteri, where the factory was shut down due to lack of valid business registration.
