Wike bans use of FCT green areas as car lots

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has prohibited the use of green areas, parks, and gardens in the nation's capital as car dealership lots. The minister expressed concern over the conversion of areas designated for recreation into car lots and directed authorities to stop unauthorized use of such spaces. Wike specifically criticized the use of parks like the Millennium Park as car dealerships, emphasizing that all unauthorized use of these areas would be closely monitored.

The directive comes as part of efforts by the FCT Administration to address flooding issues in the city, with a task force set up to enforce the ban. Civil servants involved in granting illegal approvals for green areas as car lots are under investigation.
