West Bengal teen living in pond airlifted to Mumbai after Anant Ambani’s intervention.

In a remarkable turn of events, a 16-year-old boy from Murshidabad in West Bengal, who has spent the last five years living most of his life submerged in a pond due to a severe skin condition, has been airlifted to Mumbai for specialized medical care. Anant Ambani, a prominent industrialist, intervened on the teenager's behalf, arranging for his transfer to Mumbai.

The boy, identified as Iqbal Sheikh, has been grappling with an intense burning sensation whenever he is out of water. However, remaining in the pond provides him with relief. Despite numerous visits to hospitals and traditional healers, his condition remained unaltered.

Social media circulated a video showing Iqbal sitting in the pond, partially submerged, as he enjoyed snacks. The boy's family has been unable to afford proper medical treatment due to financial constraints, leading him to live in the pond. He has also been suffering from frequent colds, coughs, and pneumonia.

Although his exact diagnosis has not been confirmed, some doctors suspect he may be suffering from erythromelalgia, a rare disorder characterized by episodes of burning pain, warmth, and redness, often affecting the hands and feet. The condition is chronic and challenging to manage, with treatment primarily focused on symptom control.

Upon reaching Mumbai, Iqbal will undergo a detailed examination to determine the cause of his symptoms and explore potential treatment options.
