WCE adakan simulasi kemalangan tanpa notis, uji tindak balas kecemasan

West Coast Expressway (WCE) conducted an unannounced three-vehicle crash simulation near KM 216.6 on the Northern Artery of the Lebuhraya Pantai Barat (WCE) in Manjung, Perak on February 18, 2023. The aim was to test emergency response preparation, coordination, and effectiveness in the event of an incident. WCE's statement explained that the drill involved WCE Emergency Response Team (ERT), Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia (LLM), police, Bomba, HAZMAT units, Hospital Manjung, Army Public Works Department (APM), and the Department of Environment (JAS).

Swift Integrated Logistics Sdn Bhd, Air Liquide Malaysia, and other logistics companies participated in simulating rescue operations, casualty management, and incident control. Some of the northern route was temporarily closed to allow for simulated rescue and vehicle diversion exercises. Traffic management capabilities were also tested by opening alternative routes.

The company emphasized that the drill was conducted unexpectedly without prior notice to ensure a genuine response and coordination from all agencies without any prior preparation. Drivers were advised to slow down, follow instructions from officials, and refer to Variable Message Signs (VMS) for real-time traffic updates throughout the drill.
