Umfragewerte: Knobloch über AfD und NSDAP – „Vergleichen sollte man“

Charlotte Knobloch, the 93-year-old chairwoman of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde für München und Oberbayern, has drawn parallels between the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and the Nazi Party (NSDAP). She told the magazine Stern, "Naturally, the Nazis from back then looked different, had uniforms, and were organized differently. They made it clear from the beginning what they intended, what their politics would look like. Everyone knew about it."

When asked about a comparison between the AfD and the NSDAP's rise in the 1930s, Knobloch responded, "We cannot equate the two, but we should compare them." She made this statement a few weeks before crucial state elections. In Saxony-Anhalt, scheduled for September 6, the AfD is projected to achieve a majority government. The same trend is observed in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, where the AfD leads in opinion polls on September 20. Nationwide, the AfD currently holds the strongest position in opinion surveys.

Knobloch highlighted that the NSDAP once started small and experimented with everything possible. She noted that the AfD is also testing what is tolerable, and it appears they are growing more radical. She emphasized, "In many areas, I see no distinction anymore between the NSDAP and the AfD until the latter came to power. I have experienced many dangerous parties, like the NPD, Republicans, and DVU. None of them were as dangerous as the AfD."
