Detroit Tigers manager A.J. Hinch delivered a grim update on the health of player Kerry Carpenter following the team's victory against the Pittsburgh Pirates. As a result, Carpenter will be restricted in his activities during the upcoming road trip and is expected to report to Lakeland for further therapy. Hinch cautioned that Carpenter's progress in hitting and running has been put on hold, with a tentative return date of next week contingent on symptom improvements. This minor setback adds to Carpenter's long-term challenges, as he has appeared in 81 games this season, batting .208 with 13 home runs and 36 RBI.
