SSB Constable Dies By Suicide With Service Rifle While On Duty In Bhopal

Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh: On a somber Wednesday morning, a 35-year-old Sub Inspector (SSB) named Sandeep Kharamate tragically took his own life using his service rifle while on duty at the CSD Camp Depot. The incident occurred around 3:30 am, when Kharamate placed the rifle against the lower part of his jaw and pulled the trigger with his thumb. The bullet passed through his head and exited from the opposite side.

Upon learning of the tragedy, police swiftly arrived at the scene and initiated a post-mortem examination. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) collected samples and an empty cartridge from the location. Kharamate's wife was informed of her husband's death at 4 am and stated that their last conversation took place at 10 pm on Tuesday, during which he had informed her that he was on duty. They had not spoken since.

A suicide note written in Marathi was discovered at the scene, with the police planning to translate the note and record statements from Kharamate's family and colleagues to determine the exact reason behind his decision. A case has been registered, and further investigations are currently underway.
