Prince Harry and Meghan moving back to U.K.

The decision was made public on Sunday, with King Charles III being informed of the move. Neither Harry nor Meghan will return to their royal duties, as per reports.

The couple had previously announced in January 2020 that they were stepping away from senior royal roles and aiming to become financially independent. In a statement, they expressed their intention to raise their children with an appreciation for royal tradition while allowing the family to focus on new ventures, including a charitable entity they plan to launch.

The couple's two children, Archie, born in 2019, and Lilibet, born in 2021, will start school in the UK in September. Buckingham Palace confirmed in February 2021 that Harry and Meghan were no longer working members of the royal family. Their decision to move to California and distance themselves from royal duties has caused tension with other members of the royal family.

The tension escalated further during a televised interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, where Meghan detailed their experiences with the royals, including concerns over her son Archie not receiving a royal title and potential issues concerning his appearance.
