Muizenberg serial rapist: Police appeal to victims and witnesses to come forward

The Western Cape police are appealing to victims and witnesses of a serial rapist who terrorized the Muizenberg area to come forward. The 35-year-old suspect has been charged with seven rape and robbery incidents that occurred between 2023 and 2026, according to Provincial Police Spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut. Through DNA analysis, photo identification, and similarities in his modus operandi, the suspect has been linked to each of the cases.

The perpetrator lured women through social media with false promises of employment or a relationship, convincing them to meet him in the Capricorn/Muizenberg area. Once there, he allegedly led them across an open field before committing violent crimes, including rape and robbery. The suspect was arrested on February 15 and remains in custody after being denied bail.

Police believe there may be additional victims who have not reported the incidents. Anyone with information or who believes they may be a victim is encouraged to come forward. Their information will be treated sensitively and confidentially. Investigating Officer Warrant Officer Jaques Barnard can be reached at 065 026 1130.
