MP's Khandwa Traffic Police Crush 42 Modified Silencers, 15 Pressure Horns In Enforcement Drive

Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh: Traffic police officials in the city recently conducted a stringent enforcement drive, targeting vehicles equipped with modified silencers, pressure horns, and illicit number plates. During the operation conducted at the Old Bus Stand, authorities seized 42 modified silencers, 15 pressure horns, and eight illegally designed number plates.

The confiscated equipment was subsequently crushed using a road roller to ensure it could not be reused, sending a clear message to vehicle owners regarding adherence to traffic regulations.

The crackdown specifically focused on vehicles fitted with modified silencers that generate excessively loud sounds, particularly motorcycles such as Bullet bikes. These modifications can cause disturbances to residents and pose safety risks to motorists and pedestrians, particularly during night hours and on quieter roads. Police emphasized that such alterations not only disrupt the peace but also compromise the safety of those on the roads.

Following the seizure, the equipment was destroyed under the supervision of deputy superintendent of police (traffic) Anil Kumar Rai, traffic station in-charge Devendra Parihar, and the dedicated traffic police team. The 15 pressure horns and eight number plates found to be in violation of traffic rules were also destroyed. Traffic police officials appealed to motorists to use only company-approved vehicle equipment and to refrain from any modifications that could increase noise pollution.

Moreover, authorities urged citizens to park their vehicles only at designated areas and avoid encroaching on roadways. This enforcement action was carried out to promote a safer and more disciplined traffic movement within the city. Officials reiterated that such measures would continue as part of ongoing efforts to maintain order and safety on the roads.
