Israel admits that it fired on vehicle carrying five-year-old Hind Rajab

Israel admitted for the first time that its military fired on a vehicle carrying five-year-old Hind Rajab and her family in Gaza City in February 2024. The attack killed Hind, six members of her family, and two paramedics. The military opened a criminal investigation into the incident, stating there was no reasonable suspicion of criminal misconduct in three other cases.

Hind survived the initial Israeli attack on the vehicle, answering a call from the Palestine Red Crescent Society to request medical assistance. After coordination with the Israeli army, an ambulance was dispatched to rescue Hind, but it was subsequently shelled by Israeli forces, killing the paramedics. Hind's family had initially sought refuge in a vehicle due to intense Israeli attacks, and her mother, Wissam Rajab, had placed her daughter in the car while the rest of the family fled on foot.
