Gladys Wanga speaks out after Ugandan woman is killed in Homa Bay chaos

Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga has condemned the death of Ugandan national Mama Noureen Nalwanga, who was killed during a political rally in the county. Wanga visited the family in Mbuni Estate and condemned the violence, calling for an impartial investigation. The rally, organized by the opposition-aligned “Linda Mwananchi” movement, left Nalwanga, affectionately known as “NyaUganda,” dead after she was struck by a campaign vehicle.

Wanga, who has a history of opposing political unrest, emphasized that the violence has no place in society. She urged leaders to maintain peace and end divisive rhetoric, warning that political friction must not compromise fundamental rights. The governor also demanded accountability for the chaos and called on law enforcement to conduct an exhaustive investigation without political bias.
