Gachagua urges Ol Kalou residents to donate 2 boats to Homa Bay fishermen

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has urged Ol Kalou residents to donate two boats given to them during the recent by-election to Homa Bay County's fishermen. Gachagua made the proposal after a Linda Mwananchi rally in Homa Bay, which he said exposed the "soft underbelly" of the Gladys Wanga-led county. Speaking at his Wamunyoro home, Gachagua defended his proposal, arguing that the boats were not being used in Ol Kalou, as the area lacks fishing activities.

He claimed the boats were given to Ol Kalou residents as a tactic to sway their votes in favor of a government-backed candidate during the by-election. Gachagua suggested the boats should be handed over to Homa Bay County, where they could be utilized by local fishermen, given that fishing is a significant economic activity in the region.

During his visit, Gachagua also addressed political issues, stating that the Linda Mwananchi movement had revealed the opposition's strong stance in the Homa Bay and Nyanza region. He dismissed Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed's claims that they would not collaborate with him or the ODM party for the next 50 years, accusing them of selling an "ODM shell" to President William Ruto.
