Flick explains why Barcelona were ‘100% convinced’ to sign Rodri: ‘Possibly the best No. 6’

Hansi Flick expressed his excitement over Barcelona's signing of Rodri, describing the Spanish midfielder as one of the best players in his position. The manager believes that Rodri's arrival provides the club with a significant new option in midfield. Flick stated that the club was fully convinced to sign Rodri, acknowledging his exceptional qualities.

The German coach praised Rodri's ability to control games and emphasized his influence beyond possession. Flick highlighted the importance of Rodri's experience at the highest level, noting that he won every major trophy during his time at Manchester City and achieved success with the Spanish national team. He added that Rodri could be the finest defensive midfielder currently playing, capable of controlling the game while also contributing defensively.

Flick further mentioned that Rodri can win aerial duels, which is crucial for the team, and raise the standard of every player around him.

Rodri will not participate in Barcelona's opening match against Al-Ahly due to recent back surgery. However, he is expected to be available for the team's subsequent training session, allowing Flick and his coaching staff to integrate him into the squad ahead of the new season.
