EV motorcycle subsidy to return in September: Purbaya

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has announced that the subsidy program for electric two-wheelers will resume in September. He stated that the government is currently preparing the legal foundation to implement the measure. The electric motorcycle subsidy should be in effect by September, according to Purbaya, who spoke to reporters at the Senayan Legislative Complex in Central Jakarta.

However, he mentioned that a Finance Ministry regulation, which will serve as the legal basis for the incentive, has not yet been issued. Purbaya plans to coordinate with Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita to discuss the details of the new regulation. Agus has previously said that the ministry is prepared to run the incentive, but some technical aspects are pending the issuance of the ministerial regulation.
