Dior’s Mathilde Favier dies in car crash at 57, alongside film producer Nicolas Altmayer

Dior has announced the death of Mathilde Favier, the 57-year-old Director of Public Relations for the fashion house, in a car accident on Monday, August 17. She was killed alongside her 61-year-old boyfriend, Nicolas Altmayer, a film producer. The vehicle they were driving collided with a truck traveling in the opposite direction while attempting to overtake another car, according to French prosecutor Nicolas Leclainche. French media outlet Le Monde reported the incident.

Dior released an official statement through Instagram expressing their deep sorrow over Favier's accidental death. Delphine Arnault, chairperson and CEO of Christian Dior Couture, remembered Favier as a committed colleague and friend, praising her optimism and courage. Bernard Arnault, CEO of LVMH, Dior's parent company, also conveyed his condolences, praising Favier for her dedication to the House of Dior.

Creative director Jonathan Anderson wrote a heartfelt tribute, highlighting Favier's warmth, energy, and embodiment of elegance. Favier is survived by her two children, Héloïse and Carlo, whom she shared with her former husband, Robert Agostinelli. Carlo posted a touching tribute on Instagram, expressing his grief and confusion over the loss.
