KARACHI: Daraz Pakistan has introduced its authorized e-pharmacy, enabling consumers throughout the nation to conveniently purchase genuine over-the-counter (OTC) medications and healthcare essentials via online platforms. This service is administered through Daraz's licensed pharmacy facility, with medicines procured, stored, and distributed in compliance with relevant regulatory standards.
Upon launch, the e-pharmacy provides over 450 products from more than 20 reputable pharmaceutical and healthcare brands, such as Haleon, Getz Pharma, Abbott, AGP, Nature’s Bounty, Route2Health, and Searle. These offerings encompass DRAP-registered OTC medicines, vitamins, supplements, and other healthcare essentials obtained through authorized channels.
Customers can place orders via the Daraz app and receive their items within one to three days in all cities currently serviced by Daraz. To commemorate this milestone, Daraz Pakistan hosted its inaugural national conference on e-pharmacy, convening pharmaceutical executives, healthcare entrepreneurs, pharmacists, industry leaders, and other stakeholders to deliberate on the trajectory of digital healthcare in Pakistan.
The conference featured dialogues on the future of e-pharmacy, the advancement of Pakistan's digital healthcare infrastructure, innovation, compliance within the pharmaceutical domain, and the evolving responsibility of pharmacists, with Shehryar Memon, Coordinator of the Emergency Operations Center for Polio Eradication & Immunization, also present.
As part of the conference, Daraz also signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with ten prominent pharmaceutical partners, enhancing cooperation across aspects like medicine authenticity, digital access, and responsible fulfillment. Ben Yi, Managing Director of Daraz Pakistan, stated that customers should be able to obtain authentic medicines conveniently without jeopardizing the professional oversight and precautions inherent to a pharmacy.
"Our e-pharmacy harmonizes qualified pharmacists, trusted pharmaceutical brands, and Daraz's logistical competencies to deliver a dependable online pharmacy experience," he further elaborated.
