Canadian Solar settles US solar patent litigation with Maxeon

Canadian Solar Inc., a leading renewable energy company, has successfully settled a U.S. patent litigation dispute with Maxeon Solar Pte. Ltd. The case, which involved alleged patent infringement regarding three patents related to TOPCon solar cell technology, was dismissed in favor of Canadian Solar. The dispute began in March 2024 and was resolved in January 2026 when the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) ruled the patent claims invalid.
