Cagliari forward Trepy regains consciousness after pool accident

Cagliari forward Yael Trepy has regained consciousness after being rescued from a swimming pool accident in Sardinia. The 20-year-old, who was unconscious for two days, was placed on a ventilator and medically induced coma following the incident. Trepy's condition has improved, and doctors have gradually reduced his sedation and ventilation.

Cagliari's Director of Emergency and Intensive Care, Dr Stefania Milia, announced on Wednesday that Trepy had fully regained consciousness and was alert and cooperative. He remains in intensive care and continues to receive close monitoring. Trepy had been given time off with his team after their Coppa Italia win, and played during that match. He has only played eight Serie A games last season, scoring once.
