Belgian winger Moreira signs five-year Milan deal

Belgian international footballer Diego Moreira has signed a five-year contract with AC Milan, according to both clubs. The 22-year-old winger's deal is set to run until June 30, 2031. While the exact transfer fee has not been disclosed, reports suggest it is worth 50 million euros (US$58 million), which would be the largest sale in Strasbourg's history.

Moreira has represented Belgium four times and made one appearance at the 2026 World Cup. He began his professional career at Benfica's reserve team before moving to Chelsea in 2023, where he played just one Premier League match before being loaned to Lyon and eventually transferred to Strasbourg for 8.5 million euros the following year.

Strasbourg have recently experienced a number of key departures, including the fine imposed by UEFA for breaching Financial Fair Play regulations. In June, Argentine midfielder Valentin Barco joined Chelsea, followed by centre-forward Emmanuel Emegha. On Monday, attacking midfielders Julio Enciso and Abdoul Ouattara also left Strasbourg, joining Ipswich where they will be under the guidance of former Strasbourg manager Gary O Neil.
