AICTE revises calendar of technical institutions for academic year 2026–27, check new dates

The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has revised the academic calendar for the ongoing academic session of 2026-27 for technical institutions and educational institutes offering executive courses like PGDM and PGCM. According to the circular released by AICTE on August 13, classes for first-year students in technical courses commenced on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Students admitted to AICTE-approved higher education institutions for the 2026-27 academic session can refer to the revised calendar to stay informed about important events. The AICTE has announced the following key dates:

- Classes commence for first-year students enrolled in technical courses: August 17, 2026

- Last date for students to be admitted against announced vacancies: September 14, 2026

- Last date for newly admitted students to take lateral entry admission to second-year courses: September 14, 2026

These revised dates apply to students who have admitted into management courses such as PGDM and PGCM. The AICTE serves as the national statutory body responsible for implementing structured planning, all-round development, and regulating all approved technical education and management institutes in India. As of now, over thousands of institutes have received approval from AICTE for students to pursue technical or management education.

Admission processes for these colleges and universities are conducted through national or state-level entrance examinations.
