‘Where is he?’ AAP claims Delhi Police 'picked' its MLA Kuldeep Kumar, Delhi HC agrees for urgent hearing

The Delhi High Court has dismissed a petition filed by AAP MLA Kuldeep Kumar's wife, regarding allegations that the party's representative was picked up from his residence by the Delhi Police. Senior advocate Shaadan Farasat had mentioned the plea before a bench of the court, citing that Kumar was seized around 4:30 am and taken away by 20 men in plain clothes.

The police, however, stated that Kumar was released at around 3:48 pm after being detained since 5:15 am. AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal had claimed that the police broke CCTV cameras and took the DVR during the incident. Kejriwal questioned Prime Minister Narendra Modi about Kumar's whereabouts, demanding answers from the government on the matter.

Former chief minister Atishi also criticized Modi for the police's refusal to provide information. AAP Delhi unit president Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that police were pressuring the family of a sanitation worker to proceed with the cremation, linking Kumar's detention to support for the workers protesting the death of Anil. The court has agreed to a hearing on Monday in the CBI's challenge to the discharge of Kejriwal in an excise case.
