Wedknott's game-changing move: Acquires top wedding planner!

Indian matchmaking company Wedknott has acquired Aurezia Events, a leading wedding planning and design firm, for an undisclosed amount, expanding its offerings in the wedding services industry. The acquisition, which makes Wedknott a majority shareholder in Aurezia Events, positions the company to enter the broader weddings and events market.

Founding member Peres will continue his role as Co-Founder and Director, overseeing the newly expanded business. India's wedding industry is a massive market, with nearly 10 million weddings taking place each year, generating an estimated $130 billion in revenue. The sector is characterized by its diversity, as each wedding typically involves numerous vendors for various services, and quality and accountability can vary significantly across vendors.

Wedknott's research indicates that 45% of couples matched through their platform request wedding planning assistance. Founder and CEO of Wedknott, Abhinav Gandhi, emphasized that while finding the right partner is crucial, the company's responsibility extends beyond that to providing ongoing support throughout the wedding planning process.

Wedknott, headquartered in Noida, currently serves over 2,000 families across 75 cities and four continents and raised capital in January of this year from an investor known for his advocacy of a purpose-driven Industrial Revolution.
